Baking Paper Nail Art - Hearts

This look is simple - I applied base coat, sand polish on the ring finger, and nude polish on the other nails. The hearts I got by using a method called 'baking paper nail art' that I learned from Demelza's World (LINK). There's only a little twist - I did not use scissors to cut out my shapes, instead I used paper crafting tools (photo below). I bought mine at Lidl a while ago, and I have 10 different patterns, some are too large to be used on nails, but the hearts are the perfect size. You can buy these paper art tools at any craft store (there are some at Muller).

I am in love with this technique. The craft paper tools give me lots of fun shapes to play with, and the nail polish is easy to remove from paper (just don't use matte nail polish, as they will not be easily removed from paper). Once the nail polish is removed from baking paper, I just press it on my nails and apply top coat. For more details on how to use this technique, go to Demelza's VIDEO.

Polishes used for this look:
Ring finger: essence colour&go, 165 here's my number

Nude: Maybelline Colorama, no.254

Base: Eveline 8in1 Total action (this polish is not meant to be used like this, but I use it as a base now because if I use it the way it was intended, it causes my nails to hurt - so yeah, I do not recommend this product)

Top Coat: Essence Studio Nails, Top Sealer

Fast drying tool: essence, nail art, express dry drops

Review: Catrice Feathers and Pearls Eye Palette

Happy Monday! The weather is horrible, so lets talk about some products! I have been constantly talking about this palette ever since I saw it in the promo pictures. It's from one of Catrice's Limited Edition collections called 'Feathers and Pearls' and the name of the palette is 'Hollywood's Golden Age'. Link to the entire collection HERE. I wanted it because it just looked so beautiful. I am a sucker for beautiful design. Anyways, this product looks amazing, but the eyeshadows are not out-of-this-world quality. They shed so much, and that's not good. However, even though I was at first disappointed, I've changed my mind after seeing how the first pot is (it's not eyeshadow, it's actually a cake-eyeliner, you're supposed to dip in a wet brush and use it wet). It's the best part of this product.

What Catrice says about this product: 'The Eye Palette offers five eyeshadows, an innovative cake-eyeliner. To apply the cake eyeliner simply mix it with a moist brush and apply it to your lashline. The pressed powder eyeshadows have a soft texture to ensure expressive looks and contain glitter pigments for a guaranteed glam factor.'

1st POT- This cake eyeliner is great. You can't use it as eyeshadow since it's bad pigmentation dry, but it isn't meant to be used as an eyeshadow anyways. I love how it looks when using a wet brush and I think this will be my go-to eyeliner. This might be the best part of the product.

2nd POT- At first this reminded me of a Catrice Eyeshadow 'The Captain Of The Black Pearl', but they're not similar. 'Captain' is so much darker and better pigmented. This one is not pitch-black, and even though they both have blue glitters in them, the glitters in this eyeshadow are a bit smaller. This eyeshadow doesn't shed dust (maybe because the texture isn't as soft as the last three eyeshadows).

3rd POT - Metallic finish, and a creamy feel. This isn't a color for me, but the quality of it is good.

4th POT - Bad pigmentation, sheds dust.

5th Pot- Considering I recently bough a gold eyeshadow by Catrice (from the Rocking Royals LE), this one is a disappointment. The pigmentation is so much weaker than the other one, and it sheds dust particles everywhere. I might use it as an accent eyeshadow though.

6th POT - Weakest in the palette. Sheds and has really poor pigmentation. I might use it in corners of my eyes or occasionally as highlighter.

The Brush: It's very similar to the brush that comes with the NUDE Catrice palette, the sponge-parts are the same, but the brush-parts are different. This one is more compact, while the one from the Nude palette is better suited for sweeping motion.

Conclusion: Packaging: 10+. It's the reason I bought it. I know I said the eyeshadows are not very good quality (or maybe Catrice has spoiled me with amazing products so far), but honestly I am only happy with this product. I have a big smile on my face, and I will be using 3 or 4 of the pots regularly. Overall, price-wise (same price as the Catrice NUDE palette) I'd say this is a great product. If you're a sucker for great design, get it. If you're looking for strong pigmentation, or want to avoid glitter-eyeshadows, this isnt for you. Well, testers are available, so you can swatch them yourself and see what you think before buying. As you can see on the photo above, eyeshadow base makes a hell of a difference.

To all you nail polish lovers, sorry for the lack of nail-polish posts, but I had to cut my nails really short, and well that's just no fun! Soon I will bring you a review of a lipstick from this Limited Edition as well. Take care!

KKCenterHk N.NAIL Heart Studs Review

Happy Sunday! Today I will talk about a KKCenterHk product - N.NAIL Studs Heart White 6mm Nail Art Decorations [NNAIL-DRN628]. You can find out more about this product on this LINK.

Before they arrived I read that some girls said they were too big and kept sticking out. Well, I didn't have this problem, and the reason is, YOU NEED TO BEND THEM. And that's so easy to do. I placed the stud on the edge of a table, and curved an edge (or both edges) of the stud using a ruler. Easy as pie. They fit perfectly, and you don't have to use a lot of force to bend them. And bending didn't damage them at all, so don't worry about that. ;)

I used nail glue to attach them, so they were fixed well. I wouldn't recommend using them without nail glue (for instance, just placing them on your nails while the polish is still wet) because I don't think they will stay in place. They are big so they need to be really well attached. Overall, I am happy with this product. I think they're great for a special occasion (prom or a wedding), but you can also use it to spice up a simple everyday look. Can you reuse the hearts? Yes, but there's no need to do that - there is a lot of them in the package so no need to save them (there were like 65 hearts in my package). If you like hearts, I'd say this is a great purchase.

I plan on doing more looks with these, because you can paint on the hearts, turning them into any color you want (which is why I chose the white hearts, they're a better canvas), or you can stamp on them. I'm having so much fun playing with these. Just a little tip - I would suggest bending them BEFORE you apply the polish. More of that to come in some future posts. Here's My Number

Happy Friday! I'm wearing Essence's polish, shade 165 'Here's My Number'. It says on the polish that it has a 'sparkle sand effect', and it sure does! This polish is amazing. Beautiful texture and color, it's really breathtaking. I love wearing it. Even has great drying time. The downside is, this polish will last you 2-3 days, and then it will start chipping. Maybe it's just me, I've only worn it once. But I don't think you'll have this problem if you have shorter nails. Mine are longer so maybe that's the reason.

 I know a lot of you have already tried sand effect nail polish. Did you like it?

Sparkle Over Sponge

This was supposed to be a gradient, but what the hell happened? I know now what my mistake was, but I didn't want to let this look go to waste, so I threw some sparkle over it (because that's what you do, apparently, ha ha). Anyway, the black shade is Maybelline's 23 Dark Chocolate (no wonder this horrible watery polish is discontinued), the grey is Catrice 610 ASHley, and on the tips She's 121/115. The sparkle is Smart Girls Get More no. 138 (I think this was LE somewhere around Christmas). The red sparkle on the thumb is another old Maybelline, 54 Cherry Sweet (slowest drying polish EVER). So that's that, next gradient I know what to do (hopefully) so I don't need to 'fix' it afterwards.

I didn't really enjoy this look, even though the Smart Girls sparkle-polish is stunning. What do you think?

Almost Lizards

This look would have been awesome - if only the lizards transferred good. Oh well, you cant have it all. What I tried to do is have a different color lizard on every finger - but some polishes didn't work well for stamping, so the lizards were horribly maimed, poor little guys. :( I'd say the ring finger is the only decent looking one. Image of polishes used in the bottom of the post. The black stars I bough from Essence, though I havent seen them on the racks recently. I did not use nail glue to attach the stars, just clear polish and they held on for 3 days. Though, I would recommend nail glue if you want more durability.

Yellow Is Not My Color

This yellow would look great on someone else's skin tone, but not me. I am wearing 3 layers of Catrice's 'Don't Feed The Birds'. This polish is long gone, I actually got it as a gift with another purchase. I would never have bought it myself because, even though it looks amazing in the bottle, it doesn't work well for me. Wouldn't you agree? Makes my hands look tired and dull. But it is a beautiful shade with the most amazing sparkle. I wore this look 2 weeks ago, so tomorrow I'll post an upgrade of this look, a failed attempt at stamping. Wait till you see it haha!

Midnight Date Gorgeousness

Hey guys! This gorgeous blue shade is a polish by Essence, from the 'nail colour 3' collection. The shade is called 'midnight date'. This is the first time I'm trying one of these double-polishes, and as far as the shade goes, it's beautiful. It's a magical dark blue, it really does look spectacular. The downside is - this baby is a chipper. I'm telling you, it will last you a day and a half...TOPS! I wore it with no top coat, and that's the mistake. Essence has an amazing top coat  from the 'studio nails' line, so if you put that on top of this, you should be fine. I was really disappointed, I am in love with this shade, but it has such bad durability. Too bad.... :(

Despite the chipping, I'd still recommend you get it - I havent seen a blue shade as gorgeous as this one in a long time! Until next post, take care! ;)
