Title It What You Will...

I thought these were pretty, so wanted to include the picture ....
These pretty little violas seeded themselves from last summer and are the first blooms I have this spring ... so far, the only blooms I have this spring.

I received this in the mail for participating in the Just One Star project for Moda.
Nice surprise!

This  very pretty light blue and yellow pin cushion was delivered to me via my participation in Cara Quilt's swap by Natasha Spicer of Spicer Quilts.  Thank you so very much Natasha!  It's beautiful!!

I purchased this small bundle to participate in FQS Bella Parade show coming alive next month ... yes, I was sucked in by the beauty of their display quilt ... OH. MY. GOODNESS ... check it out here at 13 Woodhouse Road ... if you also get the urge, go sign up here at their Flickr Pool link.

So... this precious beauty was made for me by my 5 year old, Abbie.
Trust me, I will treasure this ALWAYS!!

Okay, I will forever and always laugh when I see this picture, so I have to share it.
My very dear friend left a package at my house on Monday, when I was not at home, and when she caught up with me at the T-Ball Park that evening she says "I bought you a shirt for your birthday."  She also told me it was out of my comfort zone .... even now, I'm laughing as I write this. (In all honesty, she didn't know I love batiks!)

So, wanting to let her know that no matter what she picked out for me, I would love it, I say to her "Don't worry, I'll wear the shirt with pride."

LOL

My friend got the funniest look across her face but knowingly said "Sure."

When I got home, this beautiful package is what I found wrapped up on my porch.
LOL
I'm going to make a broach to symbolize this shirt before I take it apart ...
for both my friend and I.

Thank you, Missy, for all of this, and for the much needed hugs too!!!

And, speaking of Missy, one of her daughters graduates this coming weekend from high school.  I made this little trio out of a honey bun I had sitting in my stash.  The material is by Sandy Gervais and I used Terry Atkinson's Sweet Zip and Zippy Strippy patterns and I modified the Snap Happy pattern for the larger bag.

I'm going to attempt a couple more little bags for another of Missy's daughters before this weekend, but I wanted to share all this beauty with you.

Thank you for visiting and I hope to be back soon with more to share!

God Bless and quiltastic day to ya!

Happy Easter! & God's Blessings!!

Bright, colorful Easter wishes to you!!

My girls and I adding color to our Easter .... eggs, that is :)

Easter Dresses .... Ha!
I earned me some chocolate ;)

Center ruffle I made and buttons I added for Abbie's purple cutie.

Added a touch of pink with cute little buttons above
and pink ricrak at the bottom, cutting the pink
with a strip of white ricrak.

Aren't they fun? :) The colors really seem like
Easter-time to me.  Fun.

I had an impromptu project request interrupt this afternoon, otherwise, I just might have gotten the table runner done ... oh well ... another day.  As for Sunday ... I'm going to try my darnedest to devote it to my family and stay out of the sewing room, except for the project my husband requested which is the impromptu project .... for a funeral on Monday ... kind of hard to ignore that request ;).

I'm wishing you each the happiest of Easters, spent with those you love, doing what you enjoy and enjoying everything you do...

WAIT .... It's Kelly's Fault!!!

{{insert evil grin}}

Okay, blame it on the 15% coupon ... blame it on the trip I had to make on behalf of a client ... blame it on a handy credit card ... blame it on anything but a weak will power ....  WAIT!

MY AH-HA MOMENT!!

It's Kelly's Fault!   hahahahaha

Kelly of Charming Chatter, just this morning asked us to make a comment on something nice we would do for ourselves ... oh, and just so you know, the comment request is attached to a giveaway (maybe you could tell her I sent you over if you haven't made it there yourself already ;) .... Thanks Kelly!!).  Okay, so I said I'd buy myself some flowers ... soooooo.... I bought flowers of a different sort :) :) :)

So ... since it's release, I've been coveting really desiring this book:

I wanted to make a really bright and cheery table runner for a very grey and icky spring .... so:
1 Yard Fresh Flowers to go with Fresh Flowers charm pack by Deb Strain
And of course .... since I'm an 11th hour seamstress, a yard each for Easter dresses for my darling daughters:

I'm sure you know from previous posts who will be getting the purple dress :) ... and the green .... doesn't that just scream "Spring" and perfect for Easter???? ... Well, these days, Emily's favorite colors are green and yellow.  Shall we take bets to see if I actually have two Easter dresses done in time for Easter day? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA .....

Can you tell I had a fully loaded Mountain Dew today ... and it WASN'T diet????? ... meer slip of the hand in the fridge section at the store, and of course, just as I was cracking it open I was telling my mother to be sure to look for the Diet flavor and don't grab the sugared stuff ... :( ....

Ladies and Gents (if there are any gents reading this -- thanks!) I best be letting you go so I can win the bet with myself to see if I can make two dresses by Sunday.  Should I make a side bet with myself to include a beautiful table runner?

HAHAHAHAHA

I need some chocolate!  Oh Wait!!!!  I received some in the mail today .... from a far away land for a special occasion and I dearly thank said package sender from the bottom of my heart to the tippy-top for the chocolate and the other goodies ... You know who you are!!!  Hugs and Kisses to you!
Thank you.

Whew.  Sugar low ... going in hunt of chocolate.

Hugs to you and Happy Easter to each and every one of you!

God Bless~

P.S.  Kelly in no way is responsible for the actions of this lunatic!
Love ya Kelly!!

My Girl Likes Her Some Purple ...

Okay, so I've been a WEEEE bit absent from the bloggihood lately. Well, blame it on this one, whose favorite color happens to be purple, can you tell? :

Actually, that was Abbie, almost five years ago.  This is Abbie today:

Today, Abbie had a birthday party to celebrate her fifth birthday ....

Including my two daughters, we had nine children ... ten if you count a little sister who was here for a short time to play. Isn't that a sight to behold :)  I made pizza from scratch (due to daughter #1's allergies) and blew up more balloons than I care to count.  Borrowed game ideas from other birthday parties we've attended this year .... and ... AND there was no crying, fighting, or blood :)  I'd say score one for Mommy!  Here's the cake I made and decorated:

....  and, while Abbie didn't want me to make her another blanket or pillow for her birthday, she was okay with me making her a dress .... for her to wear to her birthday party ...
So, I gave up trying to surprise her during the week, and made this for her last night .... please take note of the lovely ruffle (Samm!!!!! ) from this ruffle-phobia girl lol .... yes, I'd do it again.

Actually, I've wanted to blog about this dress since the minute I sat down to start sewing it.

The instant I started stitching this dress, I felt absolute joy ... yes, JOY.  How funny is that? It's the first item of clothing I made for my babies.  I've been sewing for longer than I can remember.  Probably used my Gramma's old Singer for upwards of 20-25 years, making anything from pillows, dolls, shorts, shirts and dresses, but this is the first item for my very own daughter.  Yes, joy filled my heart.  I hope its the first of many things, now that they aren't sprouting two inches every time they get up from bed in the morning.

Okay, so now that I've shared, probably more that you wished to know, I'm going to go and enjoy me an adult beverage, put my feet up and promptly hear "MAAWWWMMM" and rightly ignore it as Abbie's real birthday is tomorrow and I have dinner and dessert to make for all of the relatives coming to celebrate tomorrow .... where's that adult beverage?

(yeah, right, in which reality do I live in?!!?!!!)

I hope to have something quilty to share with you all soon, but I thank you for visiting!

Happy birthday Abbie, Mom loves you!!
